Hello and welcome to The FLT Gallery!
This website is a gift to the cycling and touring world from a fellow rider and tourer.
Completely funded and managed by the same. The gallery has regular viewers from
over 75 countries, registering over 1 million views a year. In the 4th year I am making it
even harder to get a photo into the gallery. With that said however, it is still easy
to do so and is clearly spelled out below.
BIG CLEAR SIDE IMAGES
"Fully Loaded" by long held definition (not something I created) is panniers front
and
rear, having no implications regarding either their load volume or weight. So, for gallery
inclusion: Panniers must be installed, front and rear. The following two exceptions are
allowed: 1) Bikes pulling a trailer of gear *and* having front panniers don't need rear bags.
2) Recumbents with rear panniers and under-seat panniers are fine.
No flags from any country unless they are part of the landscape, cityscape and so on. The
small country patches sometimes seen attached to panniers are OK in most cases. No bike
company staged shots. If your image appears to be an advertisement or gimmick you can
count on resistance.
This collection is not about us, the people riding the bikes. No one should be standing
over or riding the bicycle. Naturally no one should be standing in front of it.
BIG! BIG! BIG! The target image width is about 1000 pixels wide but most of the truly
nice shots in the gallery are due in part to owners sending in the original .jpg file from the
camera. I crop or resize to fit based on principles of photographic composition and the
target bike size. Very minor changes like removing a dust speck or two can be done here.
The images must be sharp and well arranged. Many photos with distracting backgrounds
have not made the gallery. No photos of bikes inside, in the driveway, leaning against a car
and so on. Keep the bike big in the photograph and see the gallery for examples of scale.
Go on tour and when you get to something that makes you think, "Wow, look at that!" stop
and get the photo of your bike for The Fully Loaded Touring Bike Photo Gallery. **Read
that last line again because here is where I am being more selective.** Your fellow tourers
would rather see your bike set against a nice interesting view rather than against a wall or
shrub row.

The restrictions keep the level of visual enjoyment high for all who visit and the time
required to manage the collection down. After all, I work, play and have a full life that I
enjoy, which includes touring. : ) In fact, I've taken the time to write out all of this once so
I won't have to repeat it 1,000 times on an individual basis. Sorry but if your image falls
short, I cannot assure you that you'll get a reply.
During your next tour, keep the cycling world in mind and get a good shot of your bike for
the FLT gallery!!
Thanks and Tailwinds!
